Biography

Twincussion, the twin brothers Jen-Ting and Jen-Yu Chien, are reshaping global percussion with a unique blend of Taiwanese folk roots and inventive takes on Western classical music. Their performances fuse marimbas, wind chimes, Chinese opera gongs, and electronics, bridging Eastern and Western traditions.

Their international rise began with top honors at the 2014 Southern California International Marimba Competition and the 2016 International Percussion Competition in Italy. Since their 2018 Carnegie Hall debut, they’ve toured extensively across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. In 2023, as Center Stage Season 6 Artists, they performed at the Kennedy Center and premiered Flamboyer with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, also winning Best Arrangement at Taiwan’s Golden Music Awards.

Jen-Ting and Jen-Yu both hold the Advanced Postgraduate (Soloist) Diploma at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and are currently artists of Yamaha and Innovative Percussion.
